Codes of Conduct
At Shred Academy, we’re all part of one squad.
Whether you’re a coach, rider, or parent/spectator, we each have a role in creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment where everyone can learn, progress, and have fun.
By taking part in our sessions, you agree to follow the Shred Academy Codes of Conduct below.
Coach Code of Conduct
Professionalism & Respect
• Be punctual, reliable, and fully present during sessions.
• Treat all participants, families, and colleagues with respect and equality.
• Avoid any behaviour that could be perceived as discriminatory, aggressive, or inappropriate.
Boundaries & Communication
• Maintain clear adult/child boundaries in communication, language, and social media.
• Only communicate with participants or parents through approved Shred Academy channels.
• Do not share personal contact details with under-18s.
Safety & Supervision
• Ensure participants wear appropriate protective equipment.
• Carry out pre-session risk checks on the environment and equipment.
• Supervise all participants at all times during sessions.
Media & Representation
• Follow Shred Academy’s media policy before taking or sharing any images or video.
• Represent the Shred Academy brand positively and professionally both online and offline.
Breach of this Code may result in termination of this agreement.
Rider Code of Conduct
Respect & Attitude
• Treat other riders, coaches, and park users with kindness and respect.
• Encourage others – no teasing, bullying, or negative comments.
• Listen to your coach and follow instructions to keep everyone safe.
Safety & Equipment
• Always wear a helmet and protective pads where required.
• Make sure your scooter, bike, or board is in safe working order.
• No dangerous tricks or behaviour without coach approval.
Effort & Team Spirit
• Try your best, have fun, and support others.
• Accept feedback positively – it’s how you improve.
• Celebrate others’ wins as well as your own.
Behaviour & Responsibility
• Respect the park and equipment – no littering or damage.
• Use positive language – no swearing or rude gestures.
• Represent Shred Academy with pride and good sportsmanship at all times.
Breaking this Code may lead to a warning, a discussion with parents, or being asked to leave a session.
Parent & Spectator Code of Conduct
Respect & Support
• Encourage all riders positively – no shouting instructions or criticism from the sidelines.
• Treat all children, parents, coaches, and staff with respect.
• Support every rider, not just your own – we’re one squad.
Safety & Wellbeing
• Ensure your child arrives on time, with the right protective gear and equipment.
• Let coaches know about any injuries, illnesses, or additional needs before sessions.
• Never pressure your child to ride or perform beyond their ability.
Communication & Conduct
• Use official Shred Academy channels to raise questions or concerns.
• Refrain from negative or confrontational comments online or at events.
• Model positive behaviour that reflects our values of respect, inclusion, and fun.
Representation
• Be a role model for good sportsmanship and teamwork – your attitude shapes theirs.
Breach of this Code may result in being asked to leave the venue or, in serious cases, removal of your child from the programme.
Acknowledgement
By attending or delivering any Shred Academy session, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to follow the relevant Code of Conduct in full.
